In November, we discuss the Pilgrims and Native Americans.  We learn all about the native Americans and how they lived.  We make a Native American village in our classroom, complete with a teepee!!!  We learn about how the Native Americans used nature!!  We incorporate math and language arts in our study of Native Americans.  We also talk about the Pilgrims and why they left England and the first Thanksgiving.  We conclude with a trip to a Native American outdoor village!  Also, conferences are near the end of the month!

The First Thanksgiving
The Pilgrims cam to Plymouth Rock,
Simple people, sturdy stock,
They planted crops the Indian Way,
Every morn till end of day.
Now when the crops were gathered in,
A dinner party did begin,
Pilgrims, Indians, pumpkin pie,
Turkey, venison, corn, oh my!
