RTI is an intervention strategy for students at risk for reading comprehension difficulties.

Students are screened using the PSSA, MAP and Woodcock Reading tests. They are assigned to a tier that will provide them with reading instruction geared to their needs.

Tier 3--Students will receive targeted intervention focused on decoding, fluency, and basic comprehension strategies.

Tier 2--Students will work on good reader strategies to enhance their comprehension skills.

Tier 1--Students will be provided with material designed to challenge them as
readers.


Student achievement is monitored frequently and students may move from one group to another based on the amount of progress they have made.
