First graders have homework every night, except for weekends.

Math links

There is usually a math link to do every night. Math links review important concepts that I taught in Math class.

Occasionally, I will send home one other homework in addition to the math link.

Please read the directions at the top of the math link for important information.

Word Cards

Word cards come home on Monday nights. If your first grader doesn’t have word cards in their folder, we are taking a “break” from words that week.

Please complete all of the activities on the activity card that comes with the word cards and return them on the following Monday.

Your first grader earns stickers and prizes when their word cards come back on Mondays.

On Monday night, your first grader will need to write one sentence for each word.

I will also send two word puzzles for your first grader to do during the week.

Projects

As we get closer to the end of first grade, there will be a few, short research projects that I will send home for your first grader to do over a period of a couple of days.

Project topics include forests, insects and spring.

Please let me know if homework becomes too difficult or is taking too long for your first grader to complete.

My goal is for homework to be completed quickly and painlessly!
